Changing your PMP® Exam Simulator Password
All of Velopi’s CAPM® or PMP® exam preparation students get access to the Velopi PMI Exam Simulator. We consider this an essential part of your CAPM® or PMP® exam preparation and many past students have told us the online exam simulator was a vital factor in achieving project management certification.
Once enrolled on a CAPM® or PMP® course, students are provided with a user name and password and a link to the simulator. It is always a good idea, when you first access the simulator, to change your password. This allows you to select something that you will find easier to remember.
Beware though, that the Velopi PMI Exam Simulator has a very demanding password checker. The password must have at least eight characters, at least one digit, at least one lower-case letter, at least one upper-case letter and, if that was not enough, at least 1 non-alphanumeric character. Finding something easy to remember given those constraints is difficult, but not impossible. Looking at this another way, this exercise gives our project management students good practical exposure to constraints – a vital section in both the Project Charter and the Scope Statement, documents that you will need to be familiar with for your PMP® exam.
However, finding where to change your password is probably a bit more difficult. Unfortunately, we do not have a convenient “Change Your Password” button. Indeed, your first encounter with the simulator will be a home page like this:
There is nothing that suggests a password changer here, so scroll down a bit, looking at the left-hand side of the screen. Then you will see:
It is the “My profile settings” menu where you can change your password. Click on the leading triangle to expand the menu:
The second option is what you are looking for. Click here for:
Fill in the fields and, if you meet all the constraints, your new password will come into effect. Putting a PMP® spin on this exercise, the simulator is validating your password deliverable automatically.
If you have any difficulties with this, or any other aspect of the simulator, please contact your course instructor straghtaway.
