Our Training Philosophy
Our blended learning solution to Project Management courses will support you from the application process right through to the PMP® of even the PgMP® certification exams.
We combine classroom training, a web-accessible PMP/PgMP exam simulator and email support to ensure you pass the exam. This solution reduces the study time required and the time needed away from work to study.
Due to Covid-19, we currently run all of our courses virtually via Zoom. We combine split delivery with the use of breakout rooms and highly interactive sessions to maintain full engagement.
For organisations with many project managers on staff, we can provide in-house tailored project management training that combines project management best practice with an understanding of the in-house processes.
Organizations can develop their staff all the way to Project Management (PMP)® or even Program Management Professional (PgMP)® status. If this is not sufficient, Velopi has partnered with University College Cork to develop an MSc programme in Project Management. This is ideal for managers who want to work at the organizational level - by setting up Project Management Offices, for example.
Velopi offers support for project managers at all stages of their careers. See our career ladder graphic for more details.
Getting Started in Project Management
If you are new to project management and need to get up to speed on the basic concepts quickly, we offer a 1-day Introduction to Project Management course.
If you are a bit further down the line, you might like to obtain an entry-level project management qualification. Velopi offers you a choice of two options:
- The Project Management Institute's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Course
- The Irish QQI Level 6 Component Certificate in Project Management (6N4090) Course.
Developing as a Project Manager
For experienced project managers, Velopi's flagship offerings centre on obtaining the Project Management Professional (PMP)® accreditation. We offer two main options.
- The four day classroom or five day virtual Project Management Professional (PMP)® Course
- The two day PMP® Exam Preparation Refresher Course.
Both include unlimited access to the Velopi exam simulator and support from a PMP® certified tutor until you pass the exam.
The Refresher Course is designed to help project managers who have previously studied for the PMP® exam but, for some reason, never got around to sitting the exam. This refresher will set you back on course for the PMP® exam.
Of course, if you are really confident that you can get the PMP® alone, try some sample PMP exam questions and see just how ready you are.
What about the Professional Project Manager?
Of course, having a PMP accreditation does not mean you have to stop developing your project management skills. On the contrary, there is scope to specialise in different areas of the discipline.
Velopi has recognised a demand for scheduling specialists and provides PMI® Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)® training courses to meet that demand. The company is continually reviewing the marketplace with a view to providing the most appropriate courses for the project management community.
Professional Development Units (PDUs) have to be gathered by all PMP®s and Velopi has been developing one-day courses to provide rewarding ways of making up your PDU quotas. We have created five one-day courses that will enhance your ability as a project manager. So far they have proved very popular among our corporate clients:
- Strategy Management
- Stakeholder Management
- Introduction to the Project Management Office
- Rescuing Troubled Projects
- Introduction to Agile and Lean
Ready for the Next Level - Programme Management?
For significant ventures, such as creating a new car, or aircraft, many projects are required and their efforts coordinated to arrive at the end result. In other words, many projects and operations can be combined into one large programme.
For experienced Project Managers, the next step in your career is to manage programmes and Velopi is ready to assist. Our four-day Program Management Professional (PgMP)® course will provide you with the basis for dealing with programs and aligning them with corporate strategy.
Even if you are not interested in sitting the PgMP® exam, taking this course will prepare you to tackle these endeavours with confidence.
