These advanced project management courses are ideal for individuals looking to become project managers or formalize their status as project managers with a university certificate.

FAQs
Everything you need to know about the course. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, chat with our team.
Students who successfully complete the Certificate in Continuing Professional Development in Project Management or the Postgraduate Programme will be conferred by UCC with a level 7 or level 9 certificate, respectively.
- Velopi has devised and delivers the entire undergraduate programme.
- It has also devised and delivers three of the five postgraduate modules. These are: Project Management Principles, Project Management Professional (PMP)® Boot Camp (this is actually our PMI® Authorized PMP® Exam Preparation course) and Developments in Project Management.
- Note that enrollment for individuals is through UCC. Clients who wish a cohort of their project managers to obtain the Certificate in Continuing Professional Development in Project Management through a face-to-face arrangement should contact Velopi to discuss their requirements.
- Project management experience is not strictly required. However, those interested in the postgraduate programme should have some experience – particularly if they wish to gain full advantage from the PMP® module.
- UCC has certain prerequisites in relation to language abilities. The courses are delivered in English and reasonable proficiency in that language is necessary.
- The postgraduate programme is open to those with a minimum 2:2 level primary degree. Allowance is made for prior learning, if an applicant has significant professional work experience. Details are provided on UCC’s course page.
If you obtained your PMP® prior to 2021, attending the PMI® Authorized PMP® Exam Preparation course will be a valuable exercise in bringing your skills up to date. However, the module is assessed through a simulated PMP® exam. Actually sitting the PMP® exam itself is not essential.
No. Students who already have a PMP®, or those who have insufficient experience to apply for the PMP® would not be able to avail of this opportunity, so it was decided to make this process separate. Also, the PMP® exam is proctored by the Project Management Institute, so it is independent of the university.
As well as hosting the course materials for the individual modules, UCC’s Canvas system also provides details of:
- Financial supports available from the university
- Supports available to people with disabilities
- Insights into:
- Academic writing, including proper citing of sources
- Notetaking in lectures
- Presentation skills
- Understanding what is required to carry out assignments
Velopi provides extensive support for the modules it delivers. In particular, students wishing to obtain the Project Management Professional accreditation will benefit from our exam simulator and e-mail and telephone support up to and including the day of the exam.
As an individual, you enroll through the university.
But, if you have any queries about the course, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you. Also, if your organization is interested in the face-to-face option for the Certificate in CPD programme, definitely contact us.
