2021 Project Management Professional (PMP)® Exam Preparation Refresher Overview
Pass the new format PMP® exam on your first attempt!
The Project Management Institute (PMI)® has changed the makeup of the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam radically.
The good news is that the new exam is still based on the sixth edition of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). However, the Project Management Institute wants to move the exam away from a strong focus on processes – remember all those input, outputs, tools and techniques?
Instead, the new exam is much more interested in how value is delivered. To that end, only half of the new exam will test your process knowledge. The rest will test your understanding of people – the role of the project manager, developing and managing the team and engaging with stakeholders – and the business environment.
Also, there will be a strong emphasis on agile project management, with roughly half of the questions having some sort of agile slant.
Velopi is an Authorized Training Partner (ATP) of the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. This means, we have access to all the PMI®’s training materials. Anyone attending this course will be given an account on the PMI®’s CHOICE learning management system. Instead of a copy of the slides, you will have access to a manual, including exercises, short videos on certain topics and self-assessment utilities. Of course, you will also have access to Velopi’s exam simulator to prepare for the exam, as well as our renowned support up to the exam itself.
We will provide an overview of the new exam structure and the new breakdown of the materials. We will also provide an overview of the agile principles and the Scrum project management approach. Importantly, we will highlight the sorts of projects that lend themselves to agile, or some hybrid combination of agile and traditional, predictive project management.
